Abstract

The Snarksons are a DIS-functional family consisting of parents Purdy and Donald, and children Nala, Randall, and Milo. DISboard fanatic Purdy keeps this family together. Since the DIS is so important to Purdy, it is evident throughout their lives. Donald uses the DIS to dream about the fattiest foods on the restaurant board. Nala debates and talks politics on the Community Board. Randall likes to hack in and create slowness and crashes in people’s PM boxes. The pilot episode centers around the Snarksons first trip to Disney World. Let's meet our family and their friends:

Purdy Snarkson (name from 101 Dalmatians, matriarch of Dalmatian clan) is the female head of the Snarkson family. Purdy is devoted to her family in every way. From cleaning the house, paying the bills, cooking meals, and shuttling her children around, Purdy does it all with grace and efficiency. Purdy is the glue of the Snarkson family. Purdy's one love is the DISBoards. She spends hours posting and researching for the WDW trip of which she has always dreamed. She has a binder in which she keeps track of all of the codes, hints, and ideas that she has found on the DIS. She is hoping Donald will agree to the trip. Although he is always letting her down, she loves him anyway.

Nala Snarkson (name from The Lion King) is the eldest Snarkson child. She is 11 years old and in the fifth grade. Nala excels in school, and is a lover of all things academic, especially politics. She is in the debate club and also loves the musical arts. Unfortunately, Nala is a know-it-all, and has a bit of an ego. Still, she is the most normal of this DIS-functional family, which isn't saying much. Nala likes to DIS on the Community Board where she discusses current events and politics with others who share her interests, since there is no one at home with whom to discuss these topics.

Randall Snarkson (name from troublemaker in Monsters, Inc.) is the middle Snarkson child. A complete brat, Randall is the troublemaker of the clan. He is 8 years old and in the second grade. Needless to say, education is not tops on Randall's priority list, and he spends more time in the principal's office than the principal himself. Randall's favorite pasttimes include harassing his sister and pulling pranks with his friends on the poor residents of LimeGreenville. Randall is well known about town for his mis-deeds and is blamed for all things that go wrong, including those he didn't do. In secret, Randall is a computer whiz. He loves to get on the DIS and post erroneous information just to confuse the other dissers.

Baby Milo Snarkson (name from Atlantis) is the tiniest Snarkson. Milo cannot quite walk, but is the fastest crawler in town. He constantly sucks on his Pooh Bear pacifier, as he can't utter a word. Everyone thinks that because Milo is so tiny, that he is stupid. In fact, Milo is the smartest and most aware member of the Snarkson family. He will often visit the Dis when everyone else is sleeping, but no one on the DIS knows that they are chatting with a one year old.

Gus (from the ever faithful mouse in Cinderella) is Randall's best friend. He is like a member of the Snarkson family. Gus is very book smart, but lacks common sense. He follows Randall's lead blindly, and therefore gets in a great deal of trouble. He would do anything for Randall and the Snarkson family.

Sissy and Amy (takeoff on names of the Siamese Cats from Lady and the Tramp, Si and Am) are Purdy Snarkson's sisters. They are both single and live together in a commune of former hippies. They grow their own organic food, yet chain smoke and watch soap operas. They are a conundrum. They only join the Snarksons on outings when they know that they can get Donald to pay.

Wendy, John, and Michael Sanders (the Darling kids in Peter Pan) are the goodie-goodie neighbors of the Snarksons. Wendy is the mom and head of this family. They truly believe in the goodness that exists somewhere deep down inside of the Snarksons. They love to go on outings with the Snarksons and are quite excited about the Grand Gathering.

Grandpa (no name explanation needed) is the father of Donald Snarkson. It is obvious from looking at Grandpa where Donald gets his take on life. Grandpa is quite lazy and mooches off of his son and his family. He says that his health is failing, but in actuality, Grandpa is a partier who sneaks out to go clubbing with the girls from the retirement center.
